Mozart in Bologna
Mozart visited Bologna for the first time at the age of 14. Wolfgang took the difficult exam of the famous philharmonic academy. Actually, this was allowed only to students over 20 years old, but for Mozart they made an exception. The exam normally took hours, but Wolfgang managed the tasks in only 15 minutes.
According to Leopold, the Mozarts also met the most famous catrato Farinelli, who spent his retirement on a country estate outside Bologna. Bald darauf machten sie sich auf den Weg nach Rom und Neapel.
