The Chirikov estate belonged to the grandfather of composer Modest Mussorgsky, and Mussorgsky often visited the estate.

The Pskov Museum Authority manages the Naumovo estate in Mussorgsky’s homeland as the composer’s only museum. The village of Naumovo is the heart of this museum complex, which also includes the main house of the estate, the servants’ quarters, the barn, the greenhouse, the dairy and the smithy. In the southern part of the estate some centuries-old trees are preserved.
